OUR MISSION
Hestar, Leidschendamse Jeugdmanege Foundation, is a non-profit organization.
The aim of the foundation is to teach children how to ride a horse in a pleasant and safe environment for people and animals. We offer riding lessons for children from 6 years old, unfortunately we only have a very limited space for adults, so we limit that to parents of our young riders.
We aim to be there for all children, small and large, and we also have options specifically for children with special care needs.
Riding school Hestar is in possession of the Safety Certificate of Stichting Veilige Paardensport and has received three stars from the Federation of Dutch Equestrian Centers (FNRS). This ensures that you and your parents will learn to ride a horse at a professional riding school.
OUR TEAM
Our team consists of our permanent employees: Tessa, Amy and Danielle.
They are available every day for the children, the ponies and the parents. In addition, we have many nice certified instructors who help and teach us: Patricia, Sharon, Larissa, Cheyenne, Mylene, Terez and Lisanne. And enthusiastic volunteers who help us in the stable and behind the bar.
During opening hours there is always a stable worker present to help the children (and their parents or guardians) with the care and tacking up the ponies.
During lessons, the canteen is open to parents and visitors.

THE BOARD
Manege Hestar is a foundation and is therefore managed by a board. This board consists of:

- Cassandra Cocx
- Patricia Verduin
- aspiring board member
The board is responsible for the policy and finances of the foundation. They also maintain external contacts. .

The accommodation of Manege Hestar consists of:
- Indoor carriageway 20 x 40 meters
- Indoor carriageway 18 x 39 meters
- Outdoor lane 20 x 40 meters
- 4 paddocks for release
- 30 horse boxes of 3 x 3 meters
- Canteen
